The Strength of Community

People with donated items.

Within a week after the Los Angeles County wildfires started, our community responded to the devastation and loss experienced by Adventist Health Glendale employees. Thanks to generous donations from World Vision, Furniture Row and Ikea, and with the help of volunteer movers from Gideon’s Rescue and COPE Health Scholars, plus welcome baskets from Sodexo and moving day nourishment from Massis Kabob, we provided furnished apartments to several of our employees and their families. Additionally, through the Employee Hardship Fund, Adventist Health Glendale Foundation provided financial relief in partnership with Adventist Health Glendale’s Human Resources Department to distribute gift cards to cover essentials for impacted employees. While more than $20,000 was raised for employees who were displaced or lost their homes and possessions, financial aid is still needed to provide longer-term support.

We know this is just a small first step in helping our employees through this crisis and are grateful to provide assistance on the long road of recovery ahead.

Volunteers wave.
